Glasgow Festival of Arabic Dance are delight to welcome to Glasgow two top class teachers – Catherine Taylor from London and Helena from Yorkshire. For both it is their first time teaching in Scotland.
Catherine Taylor, London
Catherine is a Tribal Fusion dancer based in London where she teaches Unmata style ITS and Tribal Fusion. As a performer, she is known for her captivating stage presence, clean technique and innovative choreographies. As a teacher, she is known for her enthusiasm and passion, as well as her clear structure and instructions. Her qualifications include Unmata style ITS (Level 4), Gypsy Caravan (Level 3 Collective Soul and Level 1 Teacher Training) And Zoe Jakes' Dancecraft (Level 1: Key of Diamonds). In addition, she studies Polynesian dances, Contemporary and Hip Hop. She is a founding member of the Curious Verses Collective, the Honeysuckle Sweethearts and Sigma, and was a member of the London Algerian Ballet for three years.
Helena of Leeds
Based in Yorkshire, Helena is an award-winning performer known for her vivacious, elegant style, infectious enthusiasm - and shimmies that knock your socks off! A master teacher with over a decade of experience and a qualified yoga instructor, Helena's teaching style is fun and accessible. But don't let that easy going manner fool you; she packs in serious technique and has an eye for detail - helping you polish your dance whether you're a beginner or budding pro.
